Playing instructions

Right now, the playing mode is in BETA mode, and more features and better gameplay are being planned to be added all the time. The most recent playing instructions will be listed below.

The standard Google Maps controls are in place, you can pan around the map and use the zoom in/out features (using the zoom bar).
To set up your swing:
1. Gauge the wind speed and direction
2. Choose the appropriate club
3. Use the arrow buttons to set your shot direction
4. Click the SWING button (the ball on a tee) to swing your club. The meter bar will start going left. Click the SWING button to set the power of the shot (with the first green bar being 100%, and over that being an overswing, which will give you more power, but will affect your slice or draw. Then click the SWING button to set your accuracy. Try to stop the bar on the green line coming back. If you are off, that will give you a slice or draw on your shot.

Right now, all elements to the game that are not listed below as needing to be added should be assumed to be in effect. We are always trying to improve on the physics and will be adding more realism to the game.

The following elements are not currently in the simulation, but are in the plans to be added:
1. The ball will not be affected by any designation of trees yet. You should add them into any course definitions you create though, as we will be adding that feature in soon.
2. There is no putting in the game yet. When you land on the green, the game will determine a random number of putts that will be added to your score, based on the distance from the hole when you landed on the green. We are currently working on the putting mechanism, and hope to have that rolled out by mid-August.
